Toshiba announces FDA OK for Infinix VC-i system
Toshiba America Medical Systems is offering a new dedicated vascular system, the Infinix VC-i with large field of view (LFOV) Flat Panel Detector (FPD) that just received FDA 510(k) clearance. The company made the announcement at RSNA 2005 in Chicago.
The Infinix VC-i's new LFOV FPD technology is designed to streamline workflow through an all-digital system, to produce high-quality clear images and to increase efficiency for vascular exams. The system is designed to provide distortion-free imaging with uniform brightness plus advanced technologies, including powerful digital acquisition, processing and storage to offer immediate access to images and cost-effective archiving, according to Toshiba.
Besides those features, the system includes dose management functions, which ensure high-quality images at the lowest possible dose, easy-to-use tableside controls, flexible tabletop design and a liquid metal x-ray tube. The LFOV FPD is available as a field-upgradeable component for existing Infinix VC-i systems.
