KLAS to add rankings of medical equipment, provider performance
KLAS Enterprises has announced plans include the medical equipment category to its reports. The research firm will first look diagnostic imaging equipment, according to a release.
First up will be a report of industry perception of 64-Slice CT Scanners, which will be released in the fourth quarter 2005. Following that in 2006 will be the introduction of a database focused on medical equipment vendor performance.
"KLAS' decision to monitor and report on this major industry segment comes solely from a large volume of requests we've received from providers looking for real feedback from their peers who use this equipment everyday," said Jeremy Bikman, KLAS Director, Imaging and Advanced Technology. "Adding equipment ratings will help providers make more informed decisions about the equipment and manufacturers they are considering."
As always, KLAS is seeking the viewpoint of healthcare professionals so that the data will reflect a true picture of the industry. Professionals can have their say by rating the digital imaging equipment used in their facilities at www.healthcomputing.com/eval-me. The first contributors will receive free access to the report when it is released, KLAS said.
