A-LIFE releases automated coding for interventional radiology

A-Life Medical Inc., a provider of Natural Language Processing (NLP) based systems, this week announced the release of automated coding for interventional radiology procedures through A-Life's Actus Application Suite.

"Beyond the shortage of interventional coders, it can take up to 45 minutes to code an interventional report," said David Byrd, VP of sales and marketing at A-Life.  "Our patented NLP technology can read and assign compliant ICD-9 and CPT codes in less than a second. This enhancement to the Actus product demonstrates our commitment to deliver quality solutions that directly benefit our customers' bottom line."

This new functionality is able to integrate with the Actus application suite, providing complete coding workflow for both diagnostic and interventional medical records in radiology.

According to A-Life, this release matches up with the annual ICD-9 code updates that went into effect on Oct. 1st.
