Richardson features 'the fastest workstation in the world'

Richardson Electronics at SCAR is featuring calibration software from two display vendors: Image Systems' CFS Software and Planar's Dome Dashboard. The software provides remote calibrating and monitoring tools that improve the quality control of medical imaging displays distributed in a PACS environment.

Richardson also is exhibiting what it calls the world's fastest workstation. Using four Siemens 3MP grayscale monitors, Richardson custom-built a workstation with dual PCI Express slots. The workstation demonstrates how different hardware components can be combined to improve the efficiency of reading studies in a PACS environment. Richardson's new system can show cine loops at a very fast pace, for example, approximately 60 frames per second with a 3MP display.
