JCAHO conference: Decisions that Count
The Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) will host its 2003 National Conference on Quality and Safety in Healthcare: Decisions that Count Dec. 3-5 at the Chicago Hilton Towers.
The conference will examine how healthcare leaders use evidence-based medicine and ethical work to increase patient safety, improve organizational efficiency and provide better quality of care.
Among the speakers is William Yasnoff, M.D. of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, presenting "Economics, E-Medicine and Public Policy." Yasnoff plans to focus on the penetration of electronic health records (EHR) and other automations in the healthcare community.
A follow-up presentation will examine how electronic medical records, order entry and other information tools reduce errors, increase staff efficiency and contribute to high-quality care.
The conference is supported by educational grants provided by Risk Monitor Pro, Cerner Corp. and Ibex Healthdata Systems Inc.
