Hologic and Confirma to distribute CADstream MRI CAD system

Confirma Inc. has awarded Hologic Inc. non-exclusive distribution rights for Confirma's CADstream computer-aided detection (CAD) system.

CADstream is designed to automate the processing of breast MR imaging studies to help radiologists with enhanced interpretation of patient scans.

The companies also are completing the integration of the CADstream breast MRI system to function with Hologic's Lorad Selenia full-field digital mammography system. The end product will be designed to provide simultaneous mammography and breast MRI study viewing capability.

Confirma launched CADstream, the first CAD application designed exclusively for breast MRI, this past January. Hologic's Lorad Selenia is FDA-approved and uses direct capture technology to capture breast images digitally.
