Eclipsys signs merger pact with Clinical Practice Model Resource Center

Eclipsys Corp. on Monday inked a definitive merger agreement with the Clinical Practice Model Resource Center Inc. (CPMRC), as a cornerstone of Eclipsys' initiative to expand the clinical content available within Eclipsys' SunriseXA advanced information solution.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Eclipsys has been collaborating with CPMRC to develop Knowledge-Based Charting, an automated version of CPMRC's clinical methodology that will be incorporated into SunriseXA documentation system. The CPMRC system is designed to support the practice and workflow of nurses and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.

Knowledge-Based Charting will provide real-time access to and content integration of more than 180 evidence-based, Clinical Practice Guidelines into a pre-configured, interdisciplinary documentation system that meets the professional standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

Eclipsys noted that founder CPMRC CEO and founder Bonnie Wesorick, RN, MSN, would continue to lead the entity as president, while CPMRC's offices would remain in the current Grand Rapids, Mich. location.
