Agfa Healthcare aligns with Network Appliance
Agfa Healthcare and enterprise network storage technology firm Network Appliance Inc. have inked a marketing, technology and channel alliance to offer NetApp network storage products to Agfa's Impax picture archiving and communication system (PACS) customers.
The collaboration will combine NetApp FAS and NearStore products that deploy and manage image storage and sharing. Agfa customers will be able to network and manage storage resources that Agfa says have never before been available -- or centrally accessible and managed -- on an IP network. The configuration is designed to reduce expenses associated with accessing and managing distinct, isolated storage resources and provide greater architecture flexibility for future IT growth.
Among the customers that have selected NetApp storage solutions for their Impax PACS is The University Hospitals Leuven (Belgium), which handles with more than 450,000 radiology exams per year.
