Elekta taps De Carolis as Elekta Inc.'s president and CEO

Elekta AB has named Anthony G. De Carolis as regional vice president of North America and president and CEO of Elekta Inc.

The appointment was effective May 1, as De Carolis assumes responsibility for all Elekta's operations in North America, heading an organization of more than 200 employees and managing all sales in North America. The continent contributes more than 40 percent of Elekta's total sales.

De Carolis' 20 years in healthcare includes senior positions at the former GE Medical Systems, Toshiba America Medical Systems and Fisher Imaging Corp.

Tomas Puusepp, executive vice president of sales, marketing and service at Elekta and previously served as acting head of Elekta's operations in North America, will return to his duties on the company's global development.
