Misys rolls out LIS at ACL Laboratories

Misys Healthcare Systems deployed its Misys Commercial Laboratory technology at ACL Laboratories.

The scalable information system is designed specifically for high-volume, independent reference laboratories. ACL Laboratories will use the system to broaden its clinical outreach and acute care business and to support its NIDA drug-testing laboratory at Advocate Health Care in Illinois and Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin.

"ACL Laboratories performs approximately 13 million laboratory tests annually, and we anticipate 18 percent growth with the potential to add six million tests in the next 18 to 24 months," said Sandy Butschli, vice president of information services for ACL Laboratories.

Misys Commercial Laboratory will complement Misys Laboratory to provide a combined system supporting two care settings: acute care and ambulatory/outreach. Misys Laboratory and Misys Clinical Financial applications have been in use at ACL Laboratories for more than a decade.
