StorageTek expands its Information Lifecycle Management offerings

StorageTek this week launched its StorageTek StreamLine SL8500 modular library system.

The company says the SL8500 is the first offering in StorageTek's next-generation StreamLine family of enterprise information lifecycle management systems offering consolidation capabilities, high availability, performance and scalability.

The SL8500 modular library system scales from 1,448 to more than 300,000 cartridge slots in an ultra-dense footprint. Its high-performance robotics and fully redundant components support maximum data accessibility and accommodates future demands for higher throughput and overall data growth.

Features of the system include: Any Cartridge Any Slot technology; RealTime Growth capability; Library Console software; RaceTrack architecture; and HandBot high performance robotics.
