Varian develops new X-ray tube for Siemens' cath lab equipment

Varian Medical Systems, Inc. has developed a new metal technology replacement tube for use with cardiac catheterization lab equipment from Siemens Medical Solutions.

The new SG1560 x-ray tube fits into Siemens Megalix housings, and replaces the Siemens Mega 125/30/82CGM x-ray tube. It is designed for general radiography, cineradiography, digital, and film screen angiography procedures.

The new tube joins a line-up of replacement x-ray tubes that are available through Varian's Interay x-ray tube aftermarket business. Varian Interay also offers replacement x-ray tubes for CT scanners from Phillips Medical Solutions, Elscint Ltd., and GE Healthcare, as well as diagnostic x-ray tubes for use in imaging systems from virtually all manufacturers, including GE, Philips, Siemens and Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc.
