Mirada, TMCS partner for Fusion7D sales in Japan

Mirada Solutions Ltd., a subsidiary of CTI Molecular Imaging Inc., this week finalized a distribution and development partnership with Toshiba Medical Systems Corp. (TMSC) of Japan. The agreement allows the distribution of Mirada's Fusion7D PET (positron emission tomography) and image fusion platform in Japan as part of TMSC's nuclear medicine and PET workstation offering.

While additional terms were not released, Mirada says the agreement represents a significant distribution relationship in one of the strongest emerging PET markets.

CMS has more than doubled the CCTA payment rate from $175 to $357.13. The move, expected to have a significant impact on the utilization of cardiac CT, received immediate praise from imaging specialists.

The newly cleared offering, AutoChamber, was designed with opportunistic screening in mind. It can evaluate many different kinds of CT images, including those originally gathered to screen patients for lung cancer.
