Siemens showcases syngo suite, integration with NextGen for practice management

Siemens Medical Solutions used the SIIM 2007 meeting in Providence, R.I., June 7-10, to showcase its portfolio of syngo Workflow, syngo Imaging, syngo Dynamics and Siemens relationship with NextGen Healthcare.

The syngo Suite offers RIS, PACS, and processing in a comprehensive package for all imaging needs in radiology, cardiology and other -ologies. It comprises syngo Workflow, syngo Imaging and syngo Dynamics.

syngo Workflow drives the radiological workflow from order entry to image and report distribution. As it is part of the syngo Suite, there are no additional expenses for data reconciliation of the RIS and PACS databases and for the maintenance of a broker. Data consistency between RIS and PACS provides radiologists and clinicians with coordinated images and results throughout the organization. Work lists are based on the role of the user and can be tailored to meet user requirements. Enhanced messaging enables radiologists, technologists, and transcriptionists to communicate information electronically. Clinical alerts also put processes and clinical best practices directly into the user’s workflow.

User-friendly and fast tools, such as Smart Select, within syngo Imaging support the daily work of a radiologist. Smart Select enables access to the most frequently needed functions directly in the diagnostic screen, which allows the user to keep his or her eyes focused on the clinical images, not on the workstation GUI.

syngo Dynamics enables evidence-based reporting to improve the efficiency of clinical procedures for cardiology, general imaging and OB/GYN. The scalable solution also is applicable for offices, imaging clinics, hospitals and multi-facility enterprise health systems.
With a variety of archiving storage options, the scalable syngo Suite is applicable for offices, imaging clinics, hospitals and multi-facility enterprise health systems. Optional interfacing to clinical or hospital information systems allows the distribution of results in a variety of formats and helps facilities create filmless and paperless environments. The established integration of RIS, PACS and processing matches the radiological and cardiology workflow, for simple operation, faster workflow, or easy integration in the technical environment at hospitals

By working closely with NextGen Healthcare, a provider of practice management software and ambulatory electronic medical record solutions, Siemens RIS/PACS offers advanced interoperability between image management and practice management. For practices that provide clinical services beyond diagnostic imaging, Siemens also provides NextGen’s image-enabled ambulatory EMR, delivered with robust clinical content for specialties such as cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology.
