Maccabi selects RealTimeImage iPACS for digital image management

Maccabi Health Care Services, Israel's second largest HMO, has selected RealTimeImage Inc.'s iPACS for distribution of digital images to Maccabi's network of 3,000 referring clinicians and 26 clinics throughout the country.

The system is integrated into an ID card-accessible electronic medical record so that iPACS digital images can be distributed to Maccabi clinicians on demand, RealTimeImage said.

Furthermore, Maccabi's Clicks EMR system enables doctors at any location to utilize digital patient ID cards to access detailed patient histories, including images. When accessed, Clicks practice management software sends an ID-coded query to the iPACS server, which generates a list of images of that patient. Once selected, the image is streamed in lossless quality, and the user can immediately review it on the iPACS viewer, according to RealTimeImage.
