Medcon nets TCS Symphony install
Medcon Telemedicine Technology Inc. of Whippany, N.J., has installed its TCS Symphony cardiology image and information management system at Brotman Medical Center of Culver City, Calif.
Providing the hospital with an automated filmless cardiac cath lab, cardiologists and cardiac surgeons at the 420-bed hospital can manipulate diagnostic DICOM images over its network.
Medcon's TCS Symphony permits filmless acquisition, reviewing, processing, report generation, communications and long-term archiving. Medcon said these functions are not limited to x-ray angiography images, but apply to echocardiography, nuclear medicine, MRI and CT images as well.
Medcon said the next phase of the project to be completed this month will provide detailed reporting to physicians and will provide hospital based intranet access. The final phase, planned for December, will introduce a web-enabled version that will offer physicians complete access to the system through their office computer system, according to the company.
