Cerner delivers strong performance in 3Q FY04

Cerner Corp. continued to ride the success of it healthcare IT systems, as sales and earnings increased in the third quarter of FY04.

Revenues gained 12 percent to $231.1 million, compared with $206.3 million in third quarter of FY03. Net earnings reached $14.8 million, compared with $12.0 million in the year-ago quarter.

For the nine-month period, sales accumulated to $678.2 million, compared with $612.2 million in the first nine months of FY03. Net earnings reached $43.2 million, compared with $26.6 million in the year-ago period.

Noting some third quarter highlights, Cerner implemented 293 Cerner Millennium systems during the quarter and brought live its computer physician order entry module at more than 30 locations, bringing the total to more than 350.
