Agfa, Premier sign contract for RIS, PACS, reporting

Dec. 4—Agfa HealthCare has been awarded a new, three-year, multi-source contract from Premier Purchasing Partners, the group purchasing unit of Premier, to provide enterprise image management solutions (EIMS) and services through its Impax Data Center to the alliance's more than 1,500 member hospitals and 49,000 other healthcare facilities.

According to Agfa, its Impax RIS, PACS and reporting solutions will also be available to members under this contract, effective Jan. 1, 2008.

Agfa HealthCare said it was awarded this new EIMS contract after completing Premier's comprehensive product and contract evaluation process, which is based on decisions made by Premier's Imaging Committee, made up of radiologists and other key Premier member representatives.
