MedQuist appoints new COO

MedQuist Inc. last week announced the appointment of Linda Reino as its new chief operating officer. Reino will begin her new post at the beginning of October. Reporting to MedQuist President Frank Lavelle, Reino will be responsible for leading and optimizing MedQuist's day-to-day operations and technology, the company said.

A large part of Reino’s experience is in development of standards in both application and operational areas within healthcare. Reino was most recently chief information officer at Universal Health Services (UHS), a hospital management company, where she helped establish a standardized and centralized model for user-driven processing across the entire organization.
