Some African-American women have a form of breast cancer that is more aggressive and difficult-to-treat, according to a new study run by the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Reuters reports. This study goes against the widely held believe that black women have been more likely to succumb to the disease because of a lack of quality care or receive treatments after it’s too late. After doing comparisons with white and Hispanic women, the researchers discovered that back women had tumors that were more aggressive, and thus mortality rates were higher.
