Partnerships: Agfa & Novation, Vital & Toshiba
Agfa HealthCare said that Novation, a healthcare contracting services company, will provide its PACS, RIS, and cardiology PACS to the University Health System Consortium, VHA, and HealthCare Purchasing Partners International member facilities.
The contracts were awarded in all three product categories included in the bid process and Agfa HealthCare can provide value-added services associated with the three contract awards, including Professional Services IMPAX Clinical Module and Enterprise Clinical Portal, as well as Agfa's Fast-Forward to Digital, fee-per-exam, turnkey programs, and others.
"We are very pleased to be awarded contracts to provide products and services to Novation's alliance members in all three product categories," said Mike Gaeta, national director, corporate accounts, Agfa HealthCare. "With this agreement, healthcare organizations of all sizes throughout the country will be able to more easily and conveniently purchase Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX RIS and PACS solutions and other related technologies. This will make it even easier for member facilities to improve their workflow efficiencies and embrace those technologies that will enable an enterprise IT platform and provide the backbone for an EMR."
Vital Images and Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation have renewed their U.S. and international marketing and distribution agreement for two additional years. As under the previous agreement, Toshiba will offer Vital Images' Vitrea software through its subsidiaries and distributors in more than 50 nations in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and Asia, except Japan. Since 2000, Toshiba has been providing Vitrea software as the advanced visualization and analysis software of choice to customers purchasing Toshiba's Aquilion and other CT scanners.
