Calgary Scientific introduces advanced visualization toolkit

Calgary Scientific Inc. Medical Group (CSIMG) announced the availability of the ResolutionMD Advanced Visualization (AV) Toolkit along with unveiling the first member of the ResolutionMD Oncology product suite, Virtual Colonoscopy, at SIIM 2007 in Providence, R.I., last week.

The ResolutionMD platform offers analysis and reporting tools for standard 2D workflow format, but also leverage CSIMG's proprietary GPU (graphics processing unit)-based direct volume rendering technology to deliver real-time 3D rendering. All ResolutionMD products utilize the company’s patent-pending, interactive lens tool, providing contextual close-up capabilities for instant exploration of pathology without having to laboriously segment the 3D volume. Products are available separately as standalone, or as bundled or embedded solutions through the ResolutionMD AV Toolkit.

The company has partnered with eRad to offer the ResolutionMD AV toolkit as a new 3D volume rendering plug-in module into eRad’s web-accessible diagnostic viewer, providing 3D advanced visualization to radiologists, and consulting and referring physicians in countless locations.
