SonoSite selects Smith as VP

Hand-carried ultrasound developer SonoSite has named Marcus Smith as its vice president of corporate development. Smith will be a member of the Bothell, Wash.-based firm’s executive committee and report to Kevin Goodwin, SonoSite’s president and CEO, the company said.

Smith joins the firm from Philips Medical Systems, where he served as senior director, strategy and business development, since 2004. Prior to his tenure with Philips, Smith led JPMorgan’s European logistics investment banking practice as vice president, investment banking.
