athenahealth and Humana introduce RTA platform

athenahealth, a provider of internet-based business services for physician practices, and Humana have developed and launched the an all-payor platform that enables real-time adjudication (RTA) of medical claims at the point-of-service for payors.

athenahealth and Louisville, Ky.-based Humana partnered in 2006 and have piloted the new RTA program in three states since then. RTA is now available to athenahealth's entire U.S. client base, according to the Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth.
