Datascope taps Laudani for COO post

Interventional device developer Datascope has named Antonino Laudani, MD, as its chief operating officer (COO).

Prior to joining Datascope five years ago, Laudani worked for Tyco Healthcare Europe and Johnson & Johnson Medical, according to Datascope.

In other news, the Montevale, N.J.-based firm reported that Datascope Japan K.K. will manage its intra-aortic balloon pump business in Japan when Edwards Lifesciences, the current distributor, ceases business there at the end of the calendar year.

USCI Holdings, a Japanese medical-device distributor, will be responsible for sales distribution throughout Japan, the company said.
