Cianna Medical names Anderson as president, CEO
Cianna Medical, a medical device company focused on women's health, has appointed Jill Anderson as president and CEO, and she has also been named to the company's board of directors.
Anderson will oversee Cianna’s operations including the SAVI brachytherapy applicator, according to the Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based company. Cianna was created in September 2007 when BioLucent spun-out its brachytherapy business, concurrent with Hologic's acquisition of BioLucent.
Anderson was previously president of BioLucent, which she joined in 2001. During her tenure, she oversaw the company's development of its MammoPad breast cushion business, and eventual acquisition by Hologic, for a purchase price of $70 million plus an earn-out based on achieving certain revenue milestones, Cianna said.
