iCAD awarded new CAD patent for mammography

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted iCAD, a provider of computer-aided detection (CAD) solutions for the early identification of cancer, U.S. Patent No. 7,333,645, which applies technology that integrates information from multiple mammography images, including prior exams.

This is the first patent issued to iCAD in 2008.

iCAD offers high-performance CAD solutions for both digital and film-based mammography systems, which are based on sophisticated algorithms that analyze the data, automatically identifying and marking suspicious regions in the images.
