Medical Records Institute creates new TEPR award category

Medical Records Institute has instituted a new Towards the Electronic Patient Record (TEPR) Award category, EMRs Best Meeting Medicolegal Requirements, as a way to challenge EMR vendors to demonstrate that their products meet a range of EMR medicolegal requirements.

Honorees for the TEPR will be announced at the TEPR 2008 opening session on Monday, May 19, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Prior to TEPR, candidates for the award (who must be TEPR exhibitors) will complete a questionnaire designed by a team of independent attorneys, legal experts and EMR and health information management professionals, according to the Institute.
