FRG appoints Backstrom to CMO

Foundation Radiology Group (FRG), a radiology provider which uses board-certified radiologists to interpret diagnostic images for hospitals, has appointed James W. Backstrom, MD, to the position of chief medical officer (CMO).

The Pittsburgh-based FRG said that Backstrom is currently the president of the Pittsburgh Roentgen Society (PRS) and was previously a member of Lucien Diagnostic Imaging, as well as a member of Lucien’s board of directors from 2003 to 2006.

“Backstrom will be instrumental in our mission to build the preeminent national diagnostic imaging and radiology service bureau,” said Brandon W. Chan, CEO of FRG.
