Sunquest opens London office

Sunquest Information Systems, a provider of laboratory information systems, has opened a new office in London to serve as its international headquarters.

David Allcock, Sunquest’s vice president of international sales, will manage the U.K. office and staff for sales, business development, service and support functions, according to the Tucson, Ariz.-based company.

Formerly operating as a business unit in clinical data solutions for Misys Healthcare, Sunquest became a private corporation in October 2007, after it was purchased by Vista Equity Partners of San Francisco.

The company said it currently has 17 U.K. hospitals and healthcare providers using its Sunquest Laboratory Information System, CoPathPlus Anatomic Pathology System and Radiology Information System. Sunquist said it is pursuing an international growth strategy through increased sales and marketing activities, new distribution agreements and industry partnerships.
