Initiate Systems integrates software with Intel SOA Expressway

Initiate Systems will now offer Initiate Patient, a master data management software solution for healthcare enterprises, as a pre-validated integrated offering with the new Intel service-oriented architecture (SOA) Expressway for Healthcare.

By deploying Intel SOA Expressway for Healthcare, integrated delivery networks and health information networks can use the Initiate EMPI as a virtualized service in their SOA implementation, according to the Chicago-based Initiate.

The company said the Intel SOA Expressway for Healthcare software provides a way to exchange healthcare information inside hospitals and with external health information networks. In its role as an EMPI provider within this framework, the company said its Initiate Patient delivers a comprehensive view of patients to registration staff, clinicians and other end-users, as well as clinical software applications.
