CCHIT certifies HealthPort EMR system
The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) has certified HealthPort’s EMR, saying it meets the Commission’s ambulatory EMR criteria for 2007.
As a CCHIT-certified product, HealthPort EHR has been tested and passed inspection of a set of updated criteria for functionality, interoperability and security, the Alpharetta, Ga.-based company said.
“For 2007, the Commission raised the bar from the previous year’s criteria. Ambulatory EMRs now must include electronic prescribing, demonstrate an ability to receive lab results, and show enhanced patient safety, quality and security features,” said Mark Leavitt, MD, PhD, chair of CCHIT.
“HealthPort continues to invest in the development of its comprehensive EMR product to meet the needs of clients and ensure compliance with CCHIT standards,” said Larry Armold, vice president and general manager of HealthPort.
