Carestream Molecular Imaging’s new software for bone mineral density analysis of small animals and in vitro specimens for use with Kodak In-Vivo Imaging FX Pro, Kodak Multispectral FX and Kodak DXS 4000 Pro Systems |
The multispectral system incorporates workflow automation and advanced multispectral fluorescence, luminescence, digital x-ray and radioisotopic imaging capabilities for in vivo imaging of small animals for drug development and life science research.
The company also is displaying its new large Stokes shift dyes for fluorescent in-vivo imaging applications. These dyes maximize the fluorescent signal while minimizing auto-fluorescence issues during in vivo imaging.
A new software module for the system enables users to perform bone mineral density analysis of small animals and in vitro specimens using multi-energy digital x-ray imaging. The software is designed for applications ranging from the study of diseases of the bone, such as arthritis and osteoporosis, to the efficacy of drugs and other treatment options that may affect bone mineral and other densities.
The application utilizes cylindrical modeling that provides measurements not only of the density of the bone, but also of the bone marrow, providing another important parameter useful for the tracking of disease development and monitoring. The optional software is designed for use with the Kodak In-Vivo Imaging FX Pro, Kodak Multispectral FX and Kodak DXS 4000 Pro Systems.
