NDS expands operations, appoints Murphy as president, CEO
NDS Surgical Imaging, a provider of digital technologies for surgical suites, has appointed John Murphy as president and CEO, and expanded operations internationally and in the United States to facilitate operations growth.
The company said Murphy has an executive management background, including the role of president and CEO at Celerity; corporate executive vice president and chief operating officer at PerkinElmer, a role focusing on the PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences strategic business unit, as well as several years as president of PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, and vice president and general management roles at Honeywell International.
The growth for 2007 and 2008 includes European operation expansion and the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary in Tokyo to serve Asia-Pacific customers, according to the San Jose, Calif.-based NDS. NDS said it has continued to enhance new products, while embarking on a lean manufacturing journey to established operations via a Lean/Six Sigma initiative at its new facility and California headquarters.
