HealthBridge taps CINA for Ohio data aggregation project

Clinical Integration Networks of America (CINA), a developer of electronic solutions, will assist HealthBridge, a large community health information exchange in the United States, in a data extraction and aggregation project to satisfy the requirements of a federally funded, community-wide project to be initiated throughout Cincinnati.

The initiative will demonstrate that data extracted from physician-based electronic medical records and practice management systems throughout the Cincinnati-based HealthBridge’s service area can be successfully integrated with HealthBridge's own clinical data for quality improvement purposes, according to the Dallas-based CINA.

CINA's Central Data Repository and Clinical Protocol Engine will aggregate data from disparate systems, including two EHRs and one messaging system, to produce daily "Point-of-Care" patient recommendation reports and various population management reports targeting guideline compliance across practices for this project.

"Reporting quality data based on clinical documentation is a new area of focus in healthcare, and one that is presenting many new challenges for physicians," states Jim May, CEO of CINA.  "Many of these burdens can be alleviated by using the data standardization and aggregation tools developed by CINA."
