Sectra deploys health IT infrastructure for Swedish region

Sectra has received an order to deliver an overall IT infrastructure for health information exchange and cooperation among hospitals to the Swedish county council of the Region Skåne.

The infrastructure supports automatic sharing and distribution of radiology information to all departments involved in the radiology workflow, according to the Linköping, Sweden-based company.

Within the framework of the agreement, Region Skåne has now ordered additional functionality that facilitates an improved distributed radiology cooperation within and outside the region, Sectra said.

With Sectra’s IT solution, the company said that hospitals and clinics can exchange radiological patient information independent of the supplier of the radiology image and information processing system.

Region Skåne encompasses 10 hospitals, performing more than 900,000 radiology examinations annually, according to Sectra.
