Amirsys settles suit against StructuRad, physicians

Amirsys has settled its STATdx copyright infringement lawsuit against StructuRad, Richard N. Gray, MD, and Gerald D. Berman, MD, of the Midway Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, for an undisclosed cash payment.

In addition, on June 2, U.S. District Judge Dee Benson entered a permanent injunction against StructuRad, Gray and Berman, which holds Amirsys’ copyrights valid and enforceable and prohibited the defendants from copying or infringing Amirsys’ copyrighted works.

“We are pleased with the terms of the settlement agreement and with the court’s permanent injunction” said Ric Harnsberger, MD, chairman and CEO of the Salt Lake City-based Amirsys.

Harnsberger added that “the copyrighted works in STATdx represent a lifetime of knowledge from our radiologist authors and Amirsys takes its obligation to protect and defend these copyrights very seriously.”
