Hitachi scores $3M MRI deal with Pennsylvania hospital

St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pa., has invested more than $3 million to purchase Hitachi Medical System’s Oasis high-field open MRI system.

The hospital said it will be the first U.S. clinical site to offer Hitachi’s technology.

The Oasis is an open MRI system that incorporates the capabilities of high-field strength imaging, according to the Tokyo-based company. High-field strength MRIs have an enclosed circle design within which a magnet rotates.

The 366-bed St. Mary Medical Center staffs more than 650 physicians and 2,400 employees.
