NAS appoints Scott as new CFO

North American Scientific (NAS) has appointed Brett L. Scott, CPA, to the position of chief financial officer (CFO).

The Chatsworth, Calif.-based NAS said that Scott will join the NAS senior team effective Aug. 11, reporting directly to John Rush, president and CEO.

Scott joins the company from his role as CFO at Alsius, a medical device company focused on temperature control of critical-care patients, NAS said. Scott has also held the position of CFO with the following companies: Irvine Biomedical, a medical device company acquired by St. Jude Medical; Pain Concepts, a medical device company who’s flagship product was acquired by Stryker Medical; Cardiac Science, a medical device company who merged with Quinton Cardiology Systems; and Neuro Navigational, a medical device company sold to Ballard Medical.
