Siemens consolidates distribution operations, creating more than 80 jobs

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has reported it will expand its warehousing and distribution operations in Plainfield, Ind., creating more than 80 jobs over the next 12 months.

The company said it will consolidate its distribution operations from other states into an existing 300,000-square-foot facility in the Indianapolis suburb. Siemens currently employs approximately 60 people in the Indianapolis area and plans to begin hiring warehouse associates, maintenance staff and office associates to accommodate the opening of the facility.

"We are confident Indianapolis is an excellent location for us to expand our distribution operations," said Donal Quinn, CEO at Siemens. “The new site offers technology enhancements that will help us advance the quality and efficiency of our operations.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered up to $535,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $67,500 in training grants based on the job creation plans, according to Siemens.
