SonoSite asks CFO to resign

Ultrasound developer SonoSite said Wednesday that its chief financial officer (CFO) Bernard J. Pitz has left “at the request of the company.”

SonoSite Spokeswoman Anne Bugge told the Seattle Times that “there was no financial misconduct or fraud involved,” but declined to elaborate on the departure of Pitz, who joined SonoSite in mid-May.

He will be replaced by Michael J. Schuh, currently vice president of finance and business process, who was CFO for eight years until Pitz's arrival.

The Bothell, Wash.-based company said it expects to exceed consensus earnings estimates when it reports its financials on Oct. 30.
