Eclipsys names Samo as CMO

Tobias C. Samo, MD, has joined Eclipsys as chief medical officer (CMO), to help establish a clinical strategy and short-term priorities for the company’s clinical solution offerings.

Reporting to Jay Deady, executive vice president of client solutions, Samo is responsible for executive-level and physician sales support, in particular facilitating collaborative communication between the physician community and the company.

He brings to his position extensive experience in both private medical practice and consulting in healthcare IT. Most recently he was medical director of Information Technology at The Methodist Hospital in Houston and vice president of Medical Informatics at Physia, according to Eclipsys.
