Fujifilm acquires Russian medical imaging distributor
Fujifilm has acquired all shares in Fujifilm-RU, a Russian independent distributor of its medical and imaging products, from Marubeni. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Establishing a direct sale structure by turning an independent distributor into its own subsidiary, Fujifilm said it will accelerate its business expansion in the Russian market where the company expects economic growth in the mid- to long-term, according to Fuji.
With the acquisition of the Moscow-based Fujifilm-RU as a subsidiary, Fujifilm has established local corporations in Brazil, Russia, India and China. Fujifilm-RU has a capital worth 29 million rubles (approximately $836,000, U.S.).
