Carestream nets FDA clearance for wireless DRX-1

Carestream Health has received 510k clearance from the FDA for its new Carestream DRX-Evolution, and the company said it will begin taking orders immediately.

Shipments for this DR suite that employs the Carestream DRX-1 system are slated to begin this fall, according to the Rochester, N.Y.-based company. The Carestream DRX-Evolution marries the positioning flexibility of its cassette-size, wireless DR detector with the workflow of an automated DR suite. The DRX-Evolution makes it possible for healthcare facilities to upgrade to a single- or dual-detector DR suite. Carestream's DRX-1 system incorporates a console and a 14- x 17-inch DR detector.
