Voalt heads West with iPhone app

Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, Calif., has become the West Coast’s maiden ship for health IT company Voalté's application Voalté One to be employed on iPhones receiving voice, alarms and text messages in one application to all of their point-of-care workers, including nurses.

Founded by Trey Lauderdale and developed for Apple’s iPhone, the Sarasota, Fla.-based Voalté said its application is designed for communication where caregivers can receive and respond to alarms dispatched by more than 200 hospital systems and devices.

Voice capability, prioritized alarm alerts and text messages all on one device has simplified communication between staff and allowed for the 636-bed facility to focus on nursing care with fewer interruptions, according to Eunie Lee, RN, at Huntington.
