Delaware cancer center upgrades radiation equipment with Siemens

The Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, part of the Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, Del., has updated its ONCOR linear accelerator with the 160 MLC multileaf collimator from Siemens Healthcare.

According to the Malvern, Pa.-based company, the 160 MLC radiation technology features leaf movements of up to 4 cm per second, high-quality resolutions and has the lowest potential for leakage and penumbra.

Additionally, the technology spares healthy tissue and can provide shortened treatment times due to its ability to abbreviate the time of fractions through rapid leaf movements.
