Dilon lands ISO 13485 certification for gamma camera
Dilon Diagnostics, a molecular imaging systems manufacturer, has gained ISO 13485 certification for its Dilon 6800 Gamma Camera.
Used to perform breast-specific gamma imaging (BSGI), the device, while viewing metabolic activity in the breast, can identify lesions that are independent of tissue density and duplicate standard mammographic views, Dilon said.
According to the Newport News, Va.-based company, the Dilon 6800, used with its GammaLoc system, enables gamma-guided, minimally invasive biopsies of the lesions identified by BSGI.
The ISO 13485 certification ensures that technological devices meet specific development requirements and distribution guidelines.
