RSNA: Siemens demonstrates molecular CT, client-server SPECT/CT
Siemens Healthcare highlighted its Biograph mCT, as well as other technologies, at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America in Chicago last week.
Biograph mCT allows facilities to serve both the nuclear medicine and radiology departments, offering high-definition PET, Time-of-Flight technology, and CT configurations up to 128 slices. According to the company, Biograph mCT can be utilized both as a dedicated CT and PET/CT imaging system, as well as a diagnostic tool for oncology management.
Siemens also showed Symbia.net, a new client-server solution for SPECT and SPECT/CT imaging applications for 24/7 processing and reading. The solution allows facilities that require reading from multiple locations to share and access patient imaging data. Symbia.net is designed for the needs of molecular imaging with an interface and automation features.
The Symbia.net is pending 510(k) review and is not yet commercially available in the U.S.
