Health Access Solutions, AxSys Technology develop platform

Health Access Solutions and AxSys Technology have formed a strategic alliance to develop a health IT platform that supports clinical care collaboration.

The platform will enable physician organizations, hospitals, health systems, health plans and patients to connect and collaborate effectively. Health Access Solutions will market the combined offering in the U.S. under the Access Express and Excelicare brands, including an EHR, e-prescribing, care management and analytics.

The platform will assist providers to reduce readmissions, improve chronic disease management through preventive care, eliminate duplicate tests and auto-adjudicate referrals and authorization, according to Health Access, of Foster City, Calif.

The applications offered by these two companies currently serve more than 31,000 healthcare providers and more than 8 million patients, said Health Access.
