CAE Healthcare lands first echocardiography simulator sale
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston has become the first recipient of CAE Healthcare’s transthoracic echocardiography simulator, CAE VIMEDIX. According to the Montreal-based company, the simulator has been designed to train healthcare professionals to perform anatomical and physiological assessments of the heart using ultrasound, especially for practitioners who are not medical imaging specialists.
Learners on the simulator can practice their pathology recognition skills, beginning with practice on simple cases and then advancing to more complex scenarios, by way of an animated, 3D anatomical display of the heart and corresponding ultrasound image, said the company.
